Modha Hodhi (Barramundi Curry) Recipe


500g Muhudu Modha
1 tbsp Cooking Oil
3 Cloves Gralic
1 Big Onion
1 1/2 tbsp Salt
1/2 tbsp Mustard Seeds
2 Pods Cardamom
3 Green Chillies
1/2 tbsp Fenugreek Seeds
Curry Leaves and Rampe
1/2 tbsp Turmeric Powder
1 tbsp Chilli Powder
1 tbsp Curry Powder
1 Potatoes
1 Tomato
1/2 Cup Water
1 1/2 Cups of Coconut Milk


Step 1
Heat Cooking Oil in a Pan. Add Gralic, Onion, Salt, Mustard Seeds, Cardamom, Green Chillies, Fenugreek Seeds, Curry Leaves and Rampe. Saute for a few seconds then add Turmeric Powder, Chilli Powder and Curry Powder. Then add the Potatoes and Tomatoes, Mix them well for a few seconds. Add 1/2 cup of water and MIX MIX MIX!

Step 2
Add 1 1/2 cups of Coconut Milk, Mix well and add more water. Now let it simmer! Now it’s Fish time! Add 500g of Muhudu Modha (Barramundi). Flip the fish pieces around to get a nice even coating of the curry, then add more Coconut Milk. Flip the pieces gently as the fish is quite soft at this point. Let it simmer and finally add curry powder to season. Let it cook for 3 – 5 minutes and Voila! Serve with steamed rice.
